The Purdue campus has a lot of unique non-chain boutiques including Juniper, Von’s, Collette, and Amused clothing that carry a variety of one-of-a -kind pieces that will help you step up your A -game when it comes to dressing the part.

Juniper, located on 340 East State Street, is open from 11-9 p.m. on weekdays and 11-6 p.m. on weekends. They carry a variety of clothing, jewelry, and shoes that range from $20-$80.   Juniper is constantly modifying their merchandise to adjust to the latest trends of the season.  The store is categorized into two main sections where the front of the store targets teens and college students whereas the back holds more classy and modern pieces for older women.  This is also a perfect place to find an exclusive dress for any formal occasion.

The store with the biggest range of merchandise is Von’s located on 319 West State Street.  Recently, they have expanded their clothing section to satisfy all ages. Every three months, the store sends a representative to Los Angeles and New York to hand pick different pieces in emerging fashion styles such as cardigans and loose knit sweaters this winter.  They are open on Monday through Saturday from 9-9 p.m. and 9-6 p.m. on Sunday.  The average price range of $40-$80 may be a little out of a student’s price range, but their wide assortment of characteristic clothing is always in style and will make the perfect gift.

Collette on 316 West State Street is located directly across Von’s. It’s a cute boutique that showcases brands like Free People, BB Dakota, Billabong, and many others. Recently, the boutique has expanded their store to include shoes, makeup, and a larger array of clothing. The chic clothing is on the pricier side that runs from $30-$150.  This winter, Collette carries edgy and classic pieces including lace, leather, skulls, and oversized sweaters.  In spring, the store plans to switch out the clothing and include statement neon and lace for your wardrobe.  Their hours are 11-8 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 12-8 p.m. on Sunday.

Despite the skeptical exterior, Amused clothing is the most different store around. It’s a vintage store that carries quirky clothing as well as records and skateboards.  The owner constantly brings distinct pieces that are individual to the store.  The prices are super affordable and nothing is over $30. In fact, most clothes are around $5-$10. You can also find great costume ensembles for theme parties. The hours on Monday through Saturday are 9:30-9 p.m.  and 12-6 p.m. on Sunday.
