Homecoming Shutout

West Lafayette now with a 7-1 record played Twin Lakes for their homecoming game on Friday October 6th on their home field, Gordon Straley Field. The student section is packed with red everywhere and they are ready to watch the devils play.  Harrison Truitt, 10 scores the first touchdown of the game. The devils are 14-1 and the first quarter isn’t even over yet. This game was a total shutout with a final score of 70-0.  

Getting Ready For The Play: The devils played on their home field on October 6 for the homecoming game against Twin Lakes. Ben Szymanski, 11 says “It’s always exciting to get to play on the field every Friday.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During halftime Abby Hummels and Hawk Pusey were crowned homecoming queen and king while a down pour occurred . ” It felt great because I was among so many amazing and deserving peers and to be selected as someone to represent the school in that way was an honor.” says Abby Hummels, 12 as she describes the feeling of winning homecoming queen during halftime.

After the halftime homecoming crowning the rain and uneven score influenced many students and parents to leave the student section and game, but there were still many parents and few students there to support the devils.“It wasn’t my favorite game because it was pouring rain and the score was 70-0 so it wasn’t very exciting”  says Abby Haymond, 11 when she describes how she thought the game was. 

After the big win against Twin Lakes Samir Ahsan, 11 says “It was a great game. Im happy to play alongside my brothers. I hope to continue our success through the playoffs and represent our school on the football field!”. As you can tell the West Lafayette devils are working together to succeed and continue on their season and through the playoffs.
