WL prepares for enemy CC

September 16 at Lafayette Central Catholic high school, the Red Devil football team will be facing the Knights in the rivalry game with bragging rights on the line. West Lafayette and CC are two big rivals with a history of close games and rough plays. This year the Red Devils travel to CC for their senior night. With close games in the last two years the game this year will be a close and action packed game.
After losing in 2012 and 2013 the Red Devils redeemed themselves with a 21-17 win in the 2014 season. In 2013 the game came down to overtime where Central Catholic came up with a big stop.
This year’s senior class and football team is ready for the game and has been preparing the whole year for this game. “This is the game where the locker room is an exciting atmosphere and everyone is ready to play,” says Jack Folkers. West Lafayette and CC have been a big rivalry as the game between these teams has lately been for the hoosier conference championship.
Mikey Kidwell said, “It’s gonna be fun because it will be for Hoosier Conference and we haven’t won in a while.” The last time West Lafayette has won hoosier conference is in 2009 when the football team won the state championship in an undefeated season.
“This game is a game where I am ready to play on monday but we have the whole week to wait and when you get on that field there in no doubt you are 100% ready,” says Jeffrey Kim ‘16. The Red Devils hope to ruin Central Catholic’s senior night and be crowned hoosier conference champs. This year’s game will be played at CC starting at 7:00 P.M. football cc 2
