Half T-Rex Half Human?
Don’t Forget About The Fall Play!
If lately you have walked by Mrs.Good’s room after school, you might have noticed the happy laughter and unique roaring sounds coming from behind the closed door. You might have been curious as to what caused that laughter or what made the roar.
The answer to that curiosity is the new fall play that the Theater Arts Club is putting on called “Tammy: A Coming of Age Story About a Girl Who is Part T-Rex” by Julia Weiss.

Junior Diana Shelby rehearses for the play after school in Mrs.Good’s room.
Now, you might be thinking, what is the play about? And why a T-Rex? As odd as it may sound, you and the girl who is part T-Rex have a lot more in common than you might think.
“Its intended to be a commentary upon coming of age, especially the transition through middle school and all of its angsty, hard realities dealing with family, first crushes, and bullying, and trying to maintain hope in the midst of it all” says Mrs. Good, director of the play.
For many people it will be a very nostalgic play that reminds them of the “good old days” of junior high and high school.
“It really hits the nail on the head when it comes to talking about that awkward Junior High and High School age, so you can definitely relate, but in a funny, haha, glad that’s over with, happy I’m a senior kind of way,” says Theatre Club president Izzy Jones.

Senior Hannah Wilcoxson teaches the whole cast of “Tammy” the choreography to one of their songs.
For some, it is still their reality, making Tammy a very relatable character.
“I really relate to the main character just because she is very angsty and is still trying to find her way” says junior Becca Brummett.
The uniqueness and comedy of “Tammy” is sure to attract many crowds.
“Tammy is a different type of comedy, one we have never done before at West Lafayette” says Mrs. Good.
