Wordle has always been a fun game to play, but now, it has become more popular. It was made in 2013, and it’s a fun puzzle game where you try to guess the 5-letter word for the day. It pops up with green boxes which means that you guessed the right letter and it’s in the right spot. If it pops up with a yellow box, it means that you guessed the right letter, but it’s in the wrong spot. 

Wordle is a fun, but challenging game that a lot of people enjoy. “I like the community of Wordle, I like talking about it with my friends who also play it. I also like the challenge, and the spin-offs like Quordle (where you solve 4 Wordles at once with 9 guesses),” Mary Grace Austin (10) said. There are good things about Wordle, but there are also some bad things. “I don’t like that the words are sometimes things I haven’t heard of before,” Riya Shah (9) said.

When playing this puzzle, you have to come up with a strategy. You have to randomly pick a 5-letter word to start the game. When I asked 2 people what their first word was, this was their response: “Leaps. I start with it because it has two common values but also letters that are prevalent in lots of words like s and p,” Lina Idrissi Alami (10) said. “Place. I start with it because “A” and “E” are common letters, and if it’s none of those letters, I use “Storm” since none of the letters are the same,” Mary Grace Austin (10) said.

Some studies show that 14% of adults play Wordle daily and 46% of them play with a friend or someone else. Although it is a challenging game that should challenge your brain, many people play with someone else to make it more fun. “I normally play around lunchtime because the friends I sit with also play Wordle,” Mary Grace Austin (10) said.
