The wild, wild weather hits USA hard
Over the last couple years the weather in the USA has been changing drastically and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Last winter the mid west was frozen in the cold as it was one of the coldest winters on record. Along with the cold, there was also record breaking snow in many places, such as Indianapolis, which saw only the second snowfall over 50 inches in recent history.
This year Buffalo, New York had over 8 feet of snow in a 3 day period in November, which is generally the amount of snow for an entire year. The snowfall was so massive that people didn’t have a chance to prepare so they had to dig themselves out of their houses via tunnels, if they could even get that far.
This year is a little different than last because the National Weather Service 3 month outlook is for colder than average, but also drier than average. The Farmers Almanac calls for cold and snowy weather, however.
“One point I want to make is that students and teachers should never stay up late in anticipation of a snow day! That will burn you 9 times out of 10,” said Mr. Collins.
While this winter might not be as eventful as last, the weather will hopefully give us some surprises and a couple snow days also.
