CATCH!: Alyssa Yeoman catches the ball and gets ready to pitch for the next round of kickball. Other team members Natalie Hazbun, Aidan Forbes, Hue Koh, and David Baxter stood waiting in the outfield– talking, laughing, and enjoying the sunshine. “Nice and easy, like you’re bowling,” is Alyssa’s advice for the perfect pitch.

THREE STRIKES AND YOU’RE OUT: First-baseman Hawk Pusey smiles as he tosses the ball back to the pitcher after a foul kick. Buddies and club members alike had trouble kicking the ball right on the first try, often from laughing too hard or being captive in conversation. “The weather was perfect to get out and enjoy one another’s company,” Hawk commented.

TEAMWORK: Sean Connell, Aidan Forbes, and Alyssa Yeoman discuss team strategy before starting the next round of kickball. After coming back from a short snack break, the team was pumped with new energy. “New team strategy: kick their butts!” Sean exclaimed.

HEADS UP: Hue Koh tosses the ball back to Aidan Forbes after a kick past third base.  About half-way through the game, players were getting into the groove of teamwork.

HOME RUN!: Federico Romero dashes to home base after a kick way out in the outfield. The rest of the team cheered him and other baserunners on from the sidelines. “It was a good kick-off for the incoming year. I got to interact with all the new people and also the buddies,” Mary Schultz, another player on the team and an executive of Best Buddies, said.
