UNICEF Prepares for Fall Events

FALL HAPPENINGS: UNICEF Club prepares presentation materials for their weekly meeting in Mrs. Creech’s room. President Aaron Barket collaborated with exec-board members Nate Nauman and Seungmoon Lee, getting ready for upcoming events. “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is the primary high school fundraiser sponsored by the UNICEF United States Fund,” explained Aaron.

SHOCKING STATISTICS: Aaron explains UNICEF’s main fall event; Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. The event has raised money for the UNICEF organization. “There are children all over the world that live in horrible conditions. Many families that UNICEF works with live on $1.00 per day. Around 19,000 children die every day from preventable causes,” said Aaron.

GROUP WORK: Club members Lukas Adams, Jason Wang, and Sabrina Chang discuss the club’s upcoming events. Working together as a group, they came up with ways to make the UNICEF Trick-or-Treat as successful as it could be.”Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is really cool, because it lets you simultaneously enjoy the spirit of Halloween and help children around the world that desperately need it,” said Jason Wang.

THE GOAL: Exec-board members Aaron Barket and Nate Nauman present a powerpoint featuring UNICEF’s purposes and targets. Pictures and videos helped in the passing along of the the message they want to spread. “This club believes in doing everything in it’s power to help as many people that face terrible disadvantages in life,” said Aaron.

SIGN UP: The UNICEF Trick-or-Treat sign up/volunteer process begins. Exec-board members watched as members passed around the sign up sheet. “The Trick-or-Treat event is an event in which members go around asking for donations. The money we collect will be used to help families in need,” explained Seungmoon Lee.
