Women Empowering Women

ATTENTION: Sophomore Linnea Nelson writes her opinion on being a feminist
Women Empowering Women is a incoming club to West Lafayette Jr/Sr High School. Their first meeting is on February 7th in Mrs.Good’s room during the lunch hour. During the first meeting, Sarah Greenwell, the main creator of this group, stated that she wanted to make the club to help empower women in her community, especially the students in this school. “Any student that is a feminist or shares some of the beliefs can come check out the club and share their ideas with the group.” Sarah also hopes the club members take ideas from their peers to help women become more confident and gain a better understanding of feminism.
The call out meeting for Women Empowering Women club was on January 24th where Sarah discussed the plans of the first official meeting and what her goals for the club are. The club is not limited to only women, so boys may join as well. The club is for anyone whose rights need spoken for and have the same general idea of being a feminist. “I hope people can come and check out the club in their free time!”
