New cafeteria layout
Construction workers talk in the new cafeteria area. The new kitchen and cafeteria have been under construction for many months now. “I have enjoyed working on this project, although it has been very challenging,” said Courtney FitzSimons, director of food services.
New kitchen
In addition to a new cafeteria, a whole new kitchen is under construction too. The kitchen has been much improved from the previous one. “Although the slow progress can be rough and it has made me anxious, I am really excited for the new kitchen,” said FitzSimons.
FitzSimons talks about progress
Courtney FitzSimons explains the difficulties with the construction. The new cafeteria was planned to open after fall break, but got postponed for a later date. “I am not happy with the progress, because it was supposed to be finished already, but I am very excited for the outcome,” said FitzSimons.
One on one serving skillet
Courtney FitzSimons points to where the skillet will be. She talked about the various new food options that will be provided.“I am excited for the pizzeria because we are making all of the pizzas here now in our new stoves, instead of ordering them which is what we used to do,” said FitzSimons.
Blueprints
The blueprints for the construction lie where one of the many food options will eventually be. The blueprints contained the layout and design for the construction. “I am excited for the finished product, but I am still nervous. I want to make sure everything goes well for the students,” said FitzSimons.
