REACH Coffee Fundraiser

Ms. Croy, Hannah Park (11), Alice Kim (10), Katharine Schertz(12), Fiona Dierckman(9), Grace Lee(9), and Margaret Prokopy (12) pose together in the cafeteria on the morning of the fundraiser. They had just sold a coffee to a happy customer before grouping together to take a photo.
On Wednesday March 30, 2022 members of REACH sold coffee in the cafeteria.
Hannah Park (11), Alice Kim (10), Katharine Schertz(12), Fiona Dierckman(9), Grace Lee(9), and Margaret Prokopy (12) helped fundraise for the REACH club by selling coffee in the cafeteria from 7:30 to 8:15 in the morning. “When I saw the cafeteria was doing the coffee fundraiser I thought it would be a good opportunity for our club,” Schertz said.
Most helpers had previous experience helping out with the coffee fundraiser, so the morning went smoothly. “I had free time and I’ve done the coffee fundraiser before for another club and I found it really fun so I wanted to do it for REACH,” Dierckman said. “I’ve done the coffee fundraiser a few times for other clubs so I felt like if I helped out it would go better,” Lee said. Even members who had no experience liked the idea of helping out. “It sounded really fun and interesting and I liked the idea of making coffee in the morning,” Kim said.
Different members had ideas of what the money would be used for. “Maybe we’ll donate it to some organization related to stopping drug abuse or something related to education,” Dierckman said. “Currently we have this thing for the puppet shows in the future where we’re trying to get a new stage, so we’ll probably use it for that,” Kim said. I would assume the money is going to field trips and future events at the intermediate school,” Lee said.
In the end, the club sold sixty-five coffees and made $65. “It’s a good thing for members to do and it raises some money for our club so they can do activities and presentations,” Schertz said.
